Walter “Wes” Weller joined Axene Health Partners, LLC in 2010.
Wes is a health insurance actuary with 35 years experience
working with insurance companies, health maintenance organizations
and the California Department of Health Services.
His areas of expertise
include:

Wes has developed
numerous proposals for the State of California, including reform and
privatization of Medicaid. He
designed and led development of simulation models to compare actual
health care costs and utilization to expected benchmark standards of
performance. He has served as a professional expert on managed care
and has been called to give testimony on Medicaid reform before the
California legislature. Wes
held executive level positions with national health care
corporations. Wes was the first employee of a start-up dental
insurance company. He
recruited the Chief Marketing Officer and key
operational staff, designed all PPO products and pricing, installed
underwriting policies and procedures and developed all experience
analysis systems. The start-up achieved profitability within two
years and received an A- A.M. Best rating by its fifth year of
operation.
Wes started his own consulting practice prior to joining AHP.
Wes has also worked in India as part of a Business Process
Outsourcing project where he trained underwriting support staff.
Wes is a member in good standing of the
